The book entitled “The Surgical Manual of Common Otological Implants” gives detailed description of the implantation techniques related to otology along with the pictures. Conventional hearing aids were the first line treatment and the only option for patients with hearing impairment. With the advancement of instrumentation technology, otological implant has become a growing field for both in children and adults. The book consists of four chapters and each chapter describes about the history, implant device, indications and surgical steps of the cochlear implant, vibrant soundbridge, bonebridge and bone anchored hearing aid implantation techniques. The cochlear implant is used for treating bilateral profound sensorineural hearing loss; vibrant soundbridge is a middle ear implant and bonebridge and bone anchored hearing aid implantation are osseointegrated bone implants. Further rehabilitation is important to get maximum benefits from the otological implants. Specifically, intensive rehabilitation in children with cochlear implants, either prelingual or postlingual, is of great importance to avoid compromising the development of language, speech and social skills. Even the latest updates of cochlear implant, vibrant soundbridge and bonebridge techniques were discussed.
